Nope.
I would keep the GMT and sell the DJ. I would use the money from the DJ to fund another watch when the deal is right.

Trades with dealers are just bad in general. In your case, you loose on both watches and you add some cash on top of that!!!!! why?

Rolex Upgrade? BLNR + DateJust for Skydweller

Do whatever you want. Everyone loves to spend other people’s money on here (‘keep the GMT and just pay $22k for a new watch’). If you wanted to undo that trade later, you’d always be able to. The blue skydweller has retained value very well - second only to a steel Daytona. The Batman is currently at the same price it was in 2019 on the secondary market. DJ’s are relatively easy to get. If you want the Skydweller go for it. If you don’t, you’ve got two great watches.

It’s still a beautiful watch though

I don't think it's that flashy, and I don't daily mine, but I do wear it a couple of times a week. It's a bit more on the day-date spectrum of obviously Rolex and a little fancier (jubilee plus a big fluted bezel), but it's not exactly a rainbow Daytona. It doesn't stop traffic!

Terrible trade based on just the watches alone. The fact he wants money on top is an insult

Not a fan of 2 for 1's, especially for another steel watch. Keep the BLNR and trade the DJ.

This is all about personal preference. Financially it is a fair trade despite what some uninformed posters might think, you cannot buy a Blue Dial SD for $15.9K. I had a Batgirl and never wore it because it was too small for my wrist. Sold it when I got my Blue SkyD. It is indeed a very sparkly watch but also a flagship model because of the movement. Financially the Sky Dweller in Blue has held it's value incredibly well compared to all of the other references in the catalog. I predict it will always hold a premium because of how few they make and it is very hard to get. The Batman is a great watch but there are a lot of them out there.

Nope. Prefer the option of a BLNR and DJ. The blue SD is a beauty too, but I do not think it gives you more option or versatility. Every now and then it's nice to put up the bigger watches and just lazy around with a DJ. You'll miss that.

@OP this seems like a horrible trade. The BLNR is more versatile than the SkyD. I absolutely love the SkyDweller but it's a big watch, I have biggish wrists at 7 and 5/8th's and it's at about the limit of what I can pull off on the regular. It wears bigger than my 45.5 Omega PO. It's also VERY flashy. It's not an everyday wear for most folks. If you work in investment banking or VC then sure. If you're in an executive board room all day? Sure...If you're 99% of the population IMO it's tough to pull off everyday.

The BLNR is a great and versatile piece and you've got the ability to swap to a more dressy piece at the moment if you needed/wanted to.

I'd not hesitate to add a SkyDweller but I wouldn't dump the two pieces you have.

Don't think that's a fair deal. But if you are really after the SD and don't wear the other two watches often, then maybe it's a fair deal to you.

Don’t think that is a good trade. A DJ and BLNR is a great duo.

I like what you have better than the SD. That’s not an upgrade, in my book. I wouldn’t do it.

I would not. Much prefer the two you have. Much more versatile having both as well.

The numbers are not even close to right. As far as the watches the only thing that is appealing to me is to go from two to one. I would not do it.

Rolex Upgrade? BLNR + DateJust for Skydweller

Nope. I just added a green SkyDweller and I love it, but I’m lucky to have several other watches and I’m an admitted Rolex fanboy. I wanted to add the Sky to my collection as I’m a fan of the complication, but it absolutely is a large piece and lacks the flair of a GMT and the elegance of a DateJust.

I would not give up the two outstanding pieces you have for a SkyDweller. If you could add it, great. But I’m certain if you trade you’ll miss what you gave up.

The numbers are not far off, btw. What year is the SD? If it’s brand new this trade is pretty fair but I’d lop off the $1,000 and only do it straight up.

Blue Sky D is remarkable. Potentially to be discontinued this year since the release
of mint green.

The SkyD is a beautiful watch but I would rather have the BLNR and DJ41.

What size is your wrist?

No way. The SkyD is basically a combo of the two.

Well, plus the month. But is that important or simply whimsical? I think it super cool, however useless.

I would keep your two and enjoy the variety. Plus, If the values matter to you, it's a bad deal.

Either way, you'll have nice watch or watches

Yes the idea was to consolidate and ‘upgrade’ using the value of two equally good watches for something more standout but it seems a lot are saying the SD should be added not traded for these two. that’s why I thought to ask
