So if the new sub is introduced at Basel 2010...
does that mean that the LV will end? Do you think they'll do a green ceramic?

I doubt it
The special thing about the LV is the maxi dial and hand and the new sub will have the dial and all maxi hands so what would be special besides the color of the bezel? This is why I think the LV along with the regular 16610 Sub and probably the no date Sub will be discontinued. It might not happen right away but not too long.

If it is discontinued (and I have no idea) I'd think it would go the same route as the SD. Gradually as cases are used up. (same with the 16610 and 14060M)
Would that make it desirable? I have no idea, but I could see the reference being viewed as a type of "transitional" down the road. We shall see. |

I would rest assured that the current iterations of SUBs (and YACHTMASTERs), green or what have you, will continue for at least 3 more "letter series" so there'll be plenty for the next few years as the Supercases infiltrate the once seemingly peaceful non'blocky'hockeypuckedum bezels that the majority enjoy !
Thanks, Randy |

Personally think this is a conscious decision by Rolex rather than an omission on the part of Rolex to "update" the sub 14060M. I don't see why this should change with the new models. |

I think the new sub will be retro and look like the 5513.

Yeah that would be sweet too .....
Yeah that would be sweet too; but I would say that is about as likely as Rolex giving free trips on the bathyscaphe Trieste to the bottom of the Marianas Trench away with the purchase of every new Rolex Sub.

I heard from a very trust worthy source that a very, very, very high person at rolex (as high as you can go in fact) was wearing a prototype new green sub which my informant ( :) ) saw in person.

Green ceramic would be AWESOME!!! Now what shade of green would it be? Kelly? Emerald? Forrest? Olive? Lime? The possibilities are endless.

Judging by the shade of Blue on
Judging by the shade of Blue on the new white gold Sub it will be washed out light green, if they do in fact make it. I would also say that just because a Rolex muckity muck had a prototype green model does not mean that it will make it to regular production.
