Sub LV gone in 2010 or NOT!

The question will Rolex drop the LV from its lineup at Baselworld 2010 or not this time around.

I hope they do. but I am betting we see it in green ceramic as just anouther option in the sub line up.

I think it will go, too, but not after an outing on a green ceramic version, first.

If a green ceramic is possible, then they'll do it, but only time will tell

I think it will be gone. I dont see it in ceramic but I also have nothing to base that on.

Adam, you never know, they may well do a brief ceramic flowering in the green LV version and then, if it's not readily taken up, discontinue that particular line.

Now - wouldn't they be collectable!

Yes you are correct they may but I thought there was a rumor they were having issues with the colors or something of the like with the ceramic... Wouldnt it take away from the collectability of the current LV to make it in a ceramic too? Like making a GMT Pepsi ceramic... I would think this would be value destruction to the preowned market. What do ya think?

I heard the same as you regarding the problems with getting Green in the ceramic. Now considering they are trying this if this rumor is even true... is not a good sign for us LV owners as yes I feel a ceramic green sub would not be good for us destruction as you put it.

the new sub will probably (99%) have a maxi dial which is one of the main features of the LV

with regards to a green ceramic bezel i doubt that just a different color will be able to command a higher price so why would rolex offer it.

one of the posters above mentioned some issue rolex was having with colored ceramic bezels, i think the issue they were experiencing was trying to make a bo color bezel like a GMT coke or pepsi.

my bet is that its GONE!

I had heard on TRF that there were difficulties producing a dual coloured ceramic (Pepsi/Coke), but if they can make a Blue one, then I would imagine that Rolex could easily come up with a Green version.

Either way, the current LV looks great and I bet a new ceramic would also look really good.

Ultimately, whether it goes, or not, who knows . . . .

My though is that whether the LV gets the supercase or not this one is gone.

That's a pretty short run by Rolex standards (though how many examples that might be I have no idea, but far fewer than the black).

I've voted that it will go, but then again only Rolex really know the fate of the LV

not too sure on the to be honest. I'm just not too bothered. I have a current model LV and loving it. I think I would also get the ceramic version if they bring it out in the future. I can already picture it in my head. Oh yeah.

Btw - a few ADs I have spoken too recently some of them have hinted that the current LV will be discountiuned soon. But then again, we know most of the AD have no ideas what they are talking about anyway.

Only time will tell.

It's very hard to say what Rolex will do because they keep decisions very secret and close to the vest. It would not surprise me if they drop this watch from their line up!!!
