There's only $300 difference between the two the 41 being that $300 more expensive. i don't have one less than 38 mm so for me I'm not sure I would want the 36 mm however my wrist is seven and a half inches if I had a smaller wrist I could save a lot of money on a lot of watches by going with the 36 mm. In your case you have to determine what you are happy with i would think the 36 mm would be just fine.

I’m a pass if it’s not what you want kind of guy, but in this case, considering similarly and difficulty to acquire…

I prefer the 41 mm, but you should definitely buy the 36 mm. Worst case, sell it and get the 41! Keep us posted

Speaking for myself not a fan of this dial on a Rolex watch but if I really had to choose it would be the 36mm.

Firstly, you must go see the watch & try it on & see if it's what you are looking for.

I have a 6.5 inch/16.5 cm wrist and went for the 41mm.

The watch is supposed to be a celebration of Rolex; it has (I believe) the largest dial (dial not case) of any Rolex and is a fun piece and meant to be worn large (IMHO). While 36mm may be a classic size for a DJ or DD, I think this piece begs for a large dial and the lug-to-lug of the 41 just works for me & I couldn't be happier with it.

All that said, only you can gauge how your AD will react if you decline. I, personally, would not deliberately buy a watch I didn't want & sell it. If you really want the 41 after you try on the 36, tell the AD that it just isn't the one you want & you hope they will consider you for a 41mm when one comes in. I think this is a better option than trying to flip it behind their back.

Buy the 36mm and sell it and go grey for the 41mm.

Yeah, I said it.
