Lucrin Watch Rolls?
Anyone have any experience with these? Definitely at the higher end of the market, but real reviews and real world photos are impossible to come by. All I could find was someone saying they bought a watch band from them once and they liked it.

Take a look at Bulang & Son's current offerings are (they seem to change colors/patterns somewhat regularly). They're still at the higher end of the market, but look a bit less expensive than Lucrin. I'll attest to their quality; I have 4 different styles of watch rolls & boxes from them.

I have a 3-slot in blue leather exterior with grey suede leather interior. I did not buy from the store, I had it special made from Vietnam. The guy has been making straps for me for years and I asked him if he can make me a 3-slot watch case for my Rolex, he asked me how I like it and it took him 3 weeks to deliver. His workmanship is impeccable and the price is reasonable. My 3-slot was $100 including shipping.

I've been looking at their rolls for the last couple months but the internet is just completely devoid of any real world reviews other than basically a bunch of reviews on trustpilot of the company overall having generally horrendous customer service when it comes to returns or issues with an order. Being based in Switzerland, that doesn't necessarily scare me as long as long as I know what to expect with the product when it gets here. Just not sure why nobody else seems to have one of their rolls. Worst case, I rescind a charge with my CC company if push comes to shove and they don't respond to anything. I have my Bosphorus one, it's...ok. Quite frankly after ordering three products from Bosphorus and literally throwing the last $800+ customized piece in the garbage can, I think I'm just plain done with them, they aren't worth anywhere near the asking prices. |

Just glancing at their site … what type of leather do they use?

Two watch roll, black pebbled/grained leather exterior, light cream Alcantara interior, with black diamond stitching on the pillows and black Alcantara on the pillow sides/edges to tie the side edges of the diamond stitching together. All other stitching will match the Alcantara so it will give nice contrast stitching on the black exterior while also not taking away from the black diamond stitching on the pillows. He quoted 3-4 weeks before it's ready to ship from Montreal, which seemed quick to me since he had to special order the Alcantara color I wanted. As far as pricing for a two watch roll: $425 for the roll $30 extra for special order Alcantara $40 for diamond stitching pillows $35 shipping from Montreal to the Midwestern US $530 total, which is about what I expected. Prices are in USD. He has a large instagram and has a couple references on where the leather comes from, one recent reference to buying leather from Remy Carriat tannery in France and another generic older reference to buying leather from one of the tanneries that supplies Hermes. So leather should be pretty nice. It was really hard to decide what to do, so many options. I was racking my brain with options of how to do this but I eventually showed some restraint and just went with a dark exterior with a surprisingly rich light interior when you open it up with some sexy contrast diamond stitching. All ordering and color selection is done via email/messaging/texts, so it can be a bit of legwork but I can understand why - it's likely not realistic to maintain a master list of every material/color available since it probably changes constantly. Can't wait to get this! |

I have used Aaron for straps. First class all the way. Great choice.

Also for anyone wondering, Lucrin says their pillows are 17.8 cm.

This is a markup I sent over to help put in my order:
Even for a simple color scheme there were so many options...do it as above but with black alcantara dividers instead, maybe invert the pillows and do black pillows with light cream side pieces and stitching, or even diamond stitch the entire back panel. There are also multiple stitching options for the pillows but I just kept it standard. So many choices! In the end I didn't want it to be too busy and wanted something pretty clean and safe and classic, plus it's easier to order if it's not overly complicated...it's already complicated enough imo. Just a nice classic black and light cream with some black diamond stitching should look fantastic. |

Snap in pillows are sloppy, inefficient and a pia.
It is simply a bad design and not worth the quality materials and effort it takes to assemble. Sorry.

I have rolls with both the snap style and the sliding style with the slots. Both are fine to me. I like the slots, but they are always only found on cheaper rolls for some reason. On the flip side, the snaps are more secure if the roll is potentially tumbling around in your bag traveling or whatnot.

Both the slotted and the one pictured above have comparable snap closures for the lid. If the lid is closed the internal pillow snaps can still dislodge themselves unlike the slotted style. I much prefer the slotted style and believe they are priced appropriately for what they are. But I did go ahead and purchase a molequin watch case that I prefer above them all. I own and use each of the designs.
