Multiple waiting lists

Two years ago, while traveling for work, I went into the local Rolex dealer
They asked me what I was looking for I told them (sky dweller ) They asked me if I was local and I told them yes.
Of course I want to be loyal to my local A.D. but I already have several watches on my list there. I figured by putting another watch at the top of a list at another dealer. I might get it sooner
Two years later, the only correspondence I get when I ask them is “we have no idea when your watch will come in” So my question is this, does Rolex know when you’re on list at two different dealers?

Rolex for sure does not. If the AD’s in question are under shared ownership, then their systems might be linked

From what I understand, the AD's do not have systems that are shared. Unless they are under the same ownership and are "related" as 2001jesper pointed out. Even then, they may not have a shared system.

I was always recommended to ask and request from any and all AD's. As many as you can possibly visit, since that will only increase your chances. There is no Rolex "law" that condemns you from asking at too many locations. It's nice to stay loyal to your local AD, but if they're not coming through for you and keep giving you the run around, you gotta try other avenues imo. The one to be loyal to is the one that actually gets you a watch!

Watches of Switzerland ADs in the UK are linked for sure. They tell you you cannot use another AD (interest list wise) across all their stores. I registered my interest at a Goldsmiths and a WoS branch checked my history, and list when in there.

The 2 ADs in my town are owned by the same company. A SA at one used to be nice and welcoming. After looking on the pc one day and seeing I've purchased at the other AD location, that SA ignores me now.

Come to think of it, I don't get a call for anything from either one now. What I have bought I happened to be there at the right time.

I would think it is pretty tough to get the watch you want from this AD from just one random stop in while traveling for work. This is something that requires relationship building by repeated visits and maybe a small purchase on this or that to become a customer of the store.

I do keep in frequent contact with the second A.D., but I never get any answer other than they don’t have anything for me. Obviously, it’s not convenient to buy anything else from them.

Thanks to everyone for the answer to my original question; Since my usual AD has no relationship whatsoever to this other A.D. then Neither of them know I’m on each other lists - and that’s good!

First off, I guess you are assuming that a "list" actually exists at either AD. Over the years when I expressed interest in a particular piece at an AD and would stop back to check on it from time, it was evident that a list didn't exist because I have to fill out another index card each time and I started to feel that it was thrown in the circular file as I walked out the door.

I have been friends with the manager of another local AD and he eventually admitted that "the list" doesn't exist even though they tell people that they are on the list.

As others have said, AD chain location probably can check each locations "list" assuming it exists.

Agreed. Show that you are generally interested in being a customer and get to know one or two of the sales associates. If you've registered your interest then the next few stop in's, direct the conversation about them and learn more about their interests.

Every AD is different of course, but I don't believe there is a list that has any kind of order to it. Customers with the big spend histories are getting the watches they want, even if there is a long list of others waiting for the same watch.

AD's have no idea if you're buying at another AD, unless they are owned by the same company. Unlike AP, they don't share a global CRM since each Rolex AD is independently owned.

This is what has worked for me. I’ve gotten 2 watches and am expecting a third in the near future. I’ve actually seen the list at my AD. It’s a list of my desired pieces, kept electronically by the AD.

I’m on four lists at all times. Rolex has no idea.

From what I've been told by an employee, the official Rolex rep of that store must (by Rolex rule) reply to any inquiry within 24 hours (even weekends). So the mere fact that the AD provides feedback does not mean you will be getting a watch.

Rolex doesn’t share customer info between dealers, so they wouldn’t know if you’re on multiple lists. Each AD tracks their own customers, though, so it might help to have an honest chat with your local dealer about your interest and see if they can prioritize you.

Good luck. Might be time to consider a Trusted Seller.
