Always been a grail of mine.

Should hammer higher than Paul Newman Daytona IMO

A 2499 is a mil + without provenance. And Lennon is arguably far more influential that PN

Wonder what the truth of how the driver came to have it, really is.

Sure hope it goes back to the family. Another good read about the history of the watch. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2...hillippe-watch

I agree. I think the provenance and the story of this 2499 could push it beyond 20m.

The timing would be a great PR story and make many headlines. It's especially wonderful when 100% of the proceeds go to charity, as some may feel Paul would have desired.

Which charity do you think would best benefit from the proceeds?

Wow, you know much more than me, but I wouldn’t think so. The watch is much more special, but Lennon had it for two months.

To me PNs watch was unique as he wore it a lot, and is credited with basically putting the Daytona on the map. To me, that’s a much more unique and special watch story.

Agreed, PLN truly wore his timepiece for quite some time. Wonderful gentleman who set up many non-profits and ways to help others. If you love all the wonderful things Paul did to help others, please consider donating to his Hole In The Wall Gang Camp.

Some may agree John Lennon barely had it, plus he imagined no possessions so there's that. Did John Lennon specifically pick out this model or was this just another thing Yoko did?

Did John ever set up any non-profits like Paul did to help others, as that may be where proceeds from the sale should go? If John Lennon didn't think ahead, I could suggest donating 100% of the sale / proceeds to https://musicares.org to help struggling musicians.

Had no idea that he set up this charity, as well. I'm a fan of his amateur racing, being a Navy vet, his wellknown generocity & of course his love for the brand. We only buy his brand's dog treats :D
