I'd also chose the Day Date. I try to be practical when it comes to my choices and while I have some redundancy in my collection (several Submariners), I think adding a Day Date makes the most sense. You lack a dressier watch and already have a GMT complication.

I am of the opinion that you should always add a precious metal Day Date or dress watch from another brand before adding a precious metal sports watch. That's just me.

I completely agree that the RG CHNR is probably the best precious metal sports watch Rolex makes. To that end, I would also echo others here who have recommended getting something other than WG in the Day Date. That said, if you're thinking about adding a blue dial, the white goal Day Date would be the way to go.

I want to say rootbeer but you need a day date more than a gmt. How about a rose gold dd?

Given your options: DD, 100x out of 100. You could also combine your two ideas & get a RG DD...

Really nice trio to start with. Add a DD40, but do yellow or rose gold for variety. Then add an Explorer II as a wonderful “beater” (don’t know if that’s appropriately named, but you get what I mean by it). Perfect 5 watch collection.

This one is an aspirational piece. Not sure how long I will need to be waiting but a great suggestion

You have a nice SS collection. Lots of nice colors. Why not a yellow gold DD? I feel like the YG DD is the DD.

With your collection I would also consider adding an Oysterflex Daytona.

Rootbeer. The white gold is too similar to your stainless versions, and if spending that kind of money, I feel it should really stand out!

Given what you already have, a WG Day Date gets my vote.
For me personally, full YG or RG are too much. I like them when I see them on others but when I try them on my own wrist, I don't like them.

DD in whatever metal you may choose, but I do love it in WG.

If you don’t require new from AD, you could choose from an amazing variety of dials (these are from an auction last week).

Tragically, those aren’t mine - They’re 1/3 of a huge collection that sold for $2M at auction lest week. There’s a thread about it with a link to them here -

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=965868

But if you want to see some of the variety, a start would be to search 18239 or 118239 for WG, 18238 or 118238 for YG.
