Laser etched crown

Is it generally harder to see the laser etched crown on a Rolex with a white dial? Any tips/tricks to finding the etching on a watch with white dial? I find it pretty easy to see them on my black dial watches but it seems much harder with the lighter colored dial. Thanks!

Just get a bright flashlight and candle the whole crystal. It will light up the crown to the naked eye and no loupe needed.

Yes, it’s harder to spot on a white dial. Shine your light from 12 o’clock down to 6 o’clock, and you should be able to see it.

Yes, the laser-etched crown (LEC) is harder to spot on white dials due to reduced contrast. To find it more easily:
1. Shine a focused light at an angle across the crystal.
2. Tilt the watch to catch the light’s refraction.
3. Use a loupe or magnifying glass near 6 o’clock.
4. Place the watch against a dark, matte background.

With patience and the right technique, it will become visible.

Man I’ve never been able to see mine on my 116610 lol. Maybe my eyes are too bad. Not worried about it because it’s from an AD and was brand new but… you guys understand, it’s annoying.
