Omega Service Center (NJ) - Horrible Service
I owned a SeaMaster for about 10 years and finally I sent it in for service.
It came back with all the edges on my case rounded off. I was upset because my bracelet was fine. They also broke the extension clasp. Omega service (NY) or Swatch group, whatever, replaced the clasp but never rectified the rounding/over polishing of the edges. Their service was less than par and I have to say this but I will NEVER buy an Omega again. BTW, my watch needs service again because it now loses about 5 min/month. When I sent it in it only lost about a minute or so. I do NOT trust their service. Someone else I know had their Sea Master come back with a broken bezel. WTF? |

Send it to the NYC Boutique. They do magic.

Sorry to hear about your experience but the last place to send any Omega for service/repair is the Secaucus, NJ, center.
As a matter of fact, I will not leave my watches with any watchmaker that I do not personally know and trust. Fortunately there is an Omega service center about 60 miles from me so I can hand my watch over to the watchmaker after documenting the watch's condition with photographs. When the work is completed, I drive back over and pick it up after the watchmaker and I compare the before and after condition. Following these procedures, I have never been disappointed. My suggestion is to complain loudly and frequently to Omega customer service. They are aware of the problems at Secaucus. Fr. John† |

that's the only thing that scares me about omega right now; i hear too much bad stuff about their SAV (service after the sale). mr. "i wear watches like a woman wears bangles" needs to shore this up.

For that repair and all servicing, I use my local watchmakers. There's no need to be afraid of Omega service if you never need it or use it. John† |

2 years ago i was poised to buy a speedy but then changed my mind and bought an air-king because of the above. but i suppose the speedy with lemania should be a safe bet, because (off the shelf) they are supposed to be certified for nasa eva - so i'm thinking the qc would be there for sure? |

You never hear about the watches that are trouble free. Of the 80+ Omegas I have owned, the only failure has been the broken mainspring on a 44-year old manual wind Speedy Pro. Pretty amazing when I think about it.
