Power reserve

Hi Guys, I have just purchased a very nice blue sub from a retired businesman who bought it in 1994. he tells me that he has worn it almost every day and hasnt once wound it manually as he didnt know you could. my question is will this effect the running of the watch ie power reserve etc.and do i just wind it every so often as i do with my dj ? By the way it was serviced 5 yrs ago.
