Thanks so much for the words of advice fellow members! It will definitely be a trip to remember and I will be taking a ton of photos!
Can anyone tell me exactly where the AD pictured in Paris is? Would love to make a pit stop there for sure!

Don't worry about the watch, but keep your wallet in your front packet.

Maybe this is a bit of different feedback from what most people have been giving you, but if you're going to be worried and concerned about your watch while you're on vacation, even a little bit, don't bother bringing the watch along. Why do you need that angst? Just leave it behind, and take a crappy watch with you. That way, you can concentrate on what's REALLY important, which is your time off and well-being. Enjoy!

Rolex is a common brand in Europe.
Nobody is impressed by a ROLEX in Paris. Even less in Roma. Here people wear PATEK, AP, Vacheron... so Rolex stealing a Rolex is dumb. |

Agree, wear that sucker. The GMT's of any flavor are sweet travel watches, and I'd be loathe to leave mine at home. As always, be aware of your surroundings and use common sense.
Bon Voyage! |

I don't think you should go to Paris and just not think about it. You'll need to be aware of your surroundings, where you are going to, and where you are likely to wind up at the end of the day. If you are confident that you're not going to get lost and aren't going anywhere dodgy, then no worries - take it happily. Oh, and DON'T have your wallet in your front pocket - it will still be visible. Put it somewhere out of sight. You probably won't be able to avoid looking like a tourist.
I've got myself surrounded twice in Paris by undesirables, and had to do some fast talking to get out of it.......Never had the Rolex on, either. |

But you wont have any problems...Its like anywhere you can find trouble if you want it. The centre of Paris is ok. If you use common sense you will be just fine. |

Make sure you have insurance - wherever you go...or whether you go anywhere.

I've had no problem in any of those places, they are both great contries to visit -lots of nice Rolex shops in Paris. Just try to look confident(even if you don't feel it at times).
Discretely check maps for eg when walking the streets. If you have a rental car - try not to have anything visible in the car(all common sense things). Unless you are swimming with cash your major worry at the moment will will be how to make the US $ go further!! Anyway I'd be more worried in LA( you ought to hear what preconceptions about this place is in other countries). |

Get insurance and dont worry about it. I just took mine to barcelona, italy and morocco without a single concern. I was staying in crappy hostels, no worries.
