An idea for Rolex...
Rolex has been very successful in producing watches with functions specific to various occupations: car racing (Daytona), Diving (Sub and SD) pilots (GMT Master II) etc. etc.
Why don't they make a Pulsometer watch for doctors? Various other watch makers have done it like Accutron and Kobold. Here's one: It would seem like a good idea, especially because MD's are frequently Rolex owners. It's a shame Rolex doesn't make a watch specifically for one of their largest group of consumers! |

I guess they figured out you could just count.. and I would guess MD's do not want to be reminded of work when they look at their watch..

That would be very cool, another excuse to buy a watch for my Fiancee but I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

Cuz most of us use a BP monitor that takes the pulse also.
Seriously, I'd buy one if they came out with one! |

I get my patient's heart rate from 2 places, the pulseoximeter/ECG and the nurse. No need for me to check a pulse, unless things are REALLY bad and than all I really want to know if it is there or not!
I wouldn't buy one.

OK, Ok. So maybe few of us would use it to actually take someone's pulse, but who really uses the chronograph on their Daytona?, how often do you use the bezel on your Sub to time stuff? Do most people with a GMT or Exp II really monitor a second zone? How many Milgauss owners spend the day in a electromagnetic field?
The point is that all the various specialized Rolex Models it seems like a missed opportunity not to have a doctor's watch. |

Rolex designed the Prince, back in the late '20s.
Known as the doctors watch for calculating pulses. |

Quoted:
"Prince is another series which Rolex launched in 1928, it is really a masterpiece that involving function, aesthetics and structure as a whole. Since its birth, Prince has been deeply loved by doctors, as they can use it to calculate pulse; this is why Prince was called “doctor’s watch” later. And the professionals who need precision timekeeping to second also become the fans of Prince. Rectangular in shape, the Prince stood apart at the time thanks to the outstanding performance of its movement. Furthermore, Rolex developed and patented the watch’s unique display of hours and minutes on one side of the winding stem and of seconds on the other." |

That's what I thought with the Milgauss. I still can't believe how much 1019s cost.
