My suggestions is, as I was in the same situation as you a while ago, buy the GMTIIC now and trade it for the new ceramic SubDate when it is becomes availible, this is my plan anyway...
I have owned the classic SD 16600 and I really think that the classic style case models feel outdated compared to the new ceramic style cases... The GMTIIC is everything you want from a Rolex, sits nicely on the wrist, heavy, well engineered, solid links, updated clasp, ceramic bezel, maxidial, AR cyclops and the GMT complication IS a nice feature (more often used by me then the dive-ring on the SubDate) And when the new SubDate is availible you will not loose alot is selling it... Just my two cents... /masterkiller

I wouldn't wait for the new sub, I would just get it now.

You can wait.. but as soon as it comes out.. everyone will start saying that the V was the latest sub date and it is going to become more collectible.. and all that fuzz... so at some point you will be thinking about actually buying the older one just because it is not being produced anymore.. just like the SD...
I would buy the Sub and then wait to check the new one and change it later..if it is all that good...

Agreed. Ceramic bezel, maxi dial, new updated clasp...it's worth the wait. While you are waiting, check out the GMT IIc 50 anniversary....got all the goodies the submariner will have. haha, get both. |
