Is it true?

I just recently purchased a 5513 sub, from a jeweller in my city. Being a concious person, I visited other jewellers and asked about his reputation. The sub I got is in great condition, however the Dial is not the original and has been changed. The jeweller has had the watch (his own) for ten years and he said the dial was already changed when he got the watch. The other Jeweller in town, said that Rolex in the 60's, 70's when you sent the watch to get serviced by Rolex Canada, the AUTOMATICALLY changed the dial (no option) whether it needed to or not. Is this true?

Well would not say automatically changed, but changed if showing damage or lack of lume. Many of the original reds and double reds had there dials changed to white at service time.In those days they were not expected to reach the very high prices in todays market. Same could be said with a lot of vintage watches at that time its unfortunate but many did have there dials changed.

Ok, so it does not mean there was something particularly wrong with the watch...ie water damage....it is unfortunate, but I guess at the time...who knew.

Honestly..who knew. Same can be said of the lovely gilt dials.

The phrase Rolex uses is imperfect lummens. That could mean anything from the dial no longer glows to destabilization of the tritium to any number of things Rolex deems less than ideal.
