Day Date II with leather strap

Hey everyone
I was walking downtown chicago, when I noticed in a store that they were selling the Day Date II on a leather strap, it was an AD which was selling it.

I got curious and began researching it online and wasn't able to find any pics or info.

Does anyone know something about this ?

cheers

I have not seen a DDII on a leather. Anyone that does put it on a leather, deserves to be kicked in their taco

I don't think the DDII is available with a strap from Rolex. Could it have been a gold DJ on a strap you saw? Or maybe someone fitted a Daytona strap to a DDII? I'm not sure if they have the same lug width. Or, it could have just been an aftermarket strap.

Perhaps it was a gold DJ but It defnitly was a 41mm. I can't recall if it had the day on it.
It wasn't after market as it had the endlinks between the lugs as the WG daytonas have.

I remeber it being white gold the strap was black aligator

increadibly cool looking watch

I'll bet that did look cool. Strap seems to make the watch wear a little smaller. Least it seems that way to me.

Its not the band that is really big though its the body of the watch that is huge..

White gold clasp on a DJ2 ? End links like a WG Daytona ? Getting more and more confusing . Not Rolex issue that is for sure , it must be a custom made strap with some modified end links , but 21 mm ?
I have to admit I like the sound of it ...
Picture would have been nice ....

Could it be a 116139 Datejust on 18K white gold or 116138 in 18k Yellow Gold ??? both are kinda newer styles and they sit on a Leather band???
Just thinking loud

it looked exactly like a WG DJ on a leather strap
but the reason why i knew that it was 41mm is because it was sitting right next to other DDII and DJII (it was in the window)
