TAG F1 Grande £560 - whilst waiting for my rolex
hi I'm torn between a new ss sub (if it comes) and the milgauss GV - these are my two fav watches and i WILL be getting one in Dec for my 30th birthday.
just popped out to the shops for lunch and saw (in a AD) a Tag F1 44mm Grande date for £560!! now i'm thinking should i get this watch now, and then get the milgauss in dec!? that way i end up with a decent everyday watch (also a sports model) then i will have my milgauss for special occasions!? please let me have your thoughts asap before i go back out and get the F1!!! |

Sorry not a fan of the Tag at all....
Look at the second hand market just so you see what you are looking at value wise if you decide to sell. Tags do not fair well usually with resale value. Either way you need to buy which you like most. While I do not care for Tag, I would not say they make junk as they have been around a while and still have a loyal following The Sub or Milgauss will both make great every day watches

Personally, I would just wait and get the milgauss. When you do get the Rolex, you will then appreciate wearing that everyday just that much more.
Just IMO. Not that I don't like Tag, (my father owns several, very nice watches), it's just if you decide to sell it later on, you will take a BIG hit. More so then with a Rolex, Omega, IWC, etc. etc. Or, just get a Seiko for around $200, and use that to "bang around in" until December. Seiko makes SUPER nice watches for a SUPER nice value. Just my .02 cents. |

x2. I have owned 4 or 5 nice Tags and I would much rather own the $185 seiko black monster that I own now. The seiko is a heavier and more solid feeling watch than any of the tags.

I had one of the grande F1s. I returned it... it was cool for a few days, but I figured I'd rather put that money into a Rolex or Pam.

I've got a Tag and I think it's great. Had it for over 10 years and its not needed anything. Served me well. Perfect for when I am at work as my Rolexes would be ruined with those polished links.
