Went into a Patek dealer today.
So on my lunch break today I walked into Westwood, CA. There is a small jewelery store, Morgan Jewelers in Westwood. I have walked by it probably a dozen times and always marvelled at the PP in the window. So today I pop in and take a look around. I start talking to the guy behind the counter, super nice guy, he new I was a young guy without enough cash to be serious but he was nice enough to show me some stuff and shoot the breeze. I thought that I would be totally dismissed due to my age, 25, but the guy working was really nice. Now on to the watches, WOW, I have always admired PP, however, when you're looking at a case of about 50 of them, it's pretty cool. Now I just need to start saving, guess it's a good think I work for a bank, might need to open a PP account.

I used to live in LA and you know you NEVER know what someone has ($ wise) in LA....
Glad you got to learn a bit more about Patek, they are an amazing watch for sure!

No reason for anyone to dismiss you because of your age, I'm guessing that there are probably a few 25 year old people wearing PP's out there somewhere.

I've never seen a Patek in person, but I've seen enough photos to know they are beautiful. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are amazing. Of course, the price reflects this!
I would love to get a minute repeater someday. But I may have to hit the Powerball to do it! |

Good going mate
Even when i've been wearing nice/expensive watches i always swallow/take a deep breath before going into the Patek boutique on Bond St! They have some beautiful pieces. I've gone in a couple of times to actually look at/try an Aquanuaut and a Calatrava when i was considering buying one. They were super helpful and friendly. I've also gone in an been totally honest and just said i would love to look at a couple of the Grand Complications but could never afford them. Again, they were only too pleased to show me. If you're friendly, straight and honest and go in when they're quiet/not busy then they respect you back i guess. Sales people in the own brand boutiques are nearly always more friendly than the one's in the multiple brand chains. ........it's when you go into the Breguet boutique that you really start to sweat |
