Hello Gents,

As a owner of Omega and now Rolex, I have moved up from my Oris's from the past. I still really like them though. They are very nice, at a very attractive price. With that said, I rarely read anything on them on this site and other watch sites. Wondering what your opinion on them is? I am sure you know 100x's more than I know on watches, so I am all eyes (ears ;)!

I own 2 Oris. my TT1 I have worn everyday nearly for 5 years because when I bought it I decided it was pretty much my everyday work watch. I work out on deck as a seaman and so it was exposed to all kinds of dings against metal dust dirt a little paint and probably a few drobs of fuel. And it served me well. I have since sent it in for service because it was losing time and had stopped on at least 2 occasions. I now have it back and I wore it for another year until I purchased my first Rolex DSSD which I havent been able to take off of my wrist. I also have the Carlos Costa and I wear it when I am at home. I have recieved coments about it cause people really like it. I use the rubber srap that came with it I have never put the Titanium one on it. I also believe the quality is great for the money on both of these watches. And I would buy one again. In fact I have been keeping my eyes on thier new models that have come out.

I've owned a TT1 WorldTimer. Lots of watch for the money. Worked fine, comfortable, w/ an easy to use second timezone.

i have an artelier pointer day and love it..i wear it about 75% of the time at work... i agree for the price they are tough to beat! i have my eye on a tt1 on rubber. may not be a better value out there.

I think Oris is a great brand for the price. I've had several Big crown's and they are great throwback watches. They are really durable, and the movements haven't given me any issues. I liked the pointer date. Vintage look.

I have one of the new design 49mm Der Meistertaucher dive watchesand I absolutely love it.

The build quality is great and the design is very distinctive. The titanium braceet is a really nice design - chunky and yet very comfortable.

The watch wears a similar size to a 44mm Panerai but exhibits a greater build quality.

i have heard good things about them and would love to own one. i kind of consider them a "starter" mechanical watch in the sense that I would buy one, and if I decided I liked it, move on perhaps to something more expensive in an automatic.

sadly, for me most watches are just too big, e.g. 40mm or more

I agree with you, they are definetely a gateway into more expensive and "better" mechanical watches. Happens to us all ;)

I like their alarm watch but it is £4000 thats Rolex territory, trust me to only like their most exspensive watch.

Always been a big fan of Oris aesthetically.

I think they are one of the best values in the watch world.

Surprised they haven't caught on more than they have.

I've owned a few ORIS watches including the TT1, they are nice, they lack a little refinement though, and small things about them bothered me. One thing in particular, the TT1 has a double dot at 12 o'clock, the triangle on the bezel insert didn't split the double dot precisely, it was off just a hair. Drove me nuts, also I ended up not liking the titanium bracelet

Some of the Rolex Subs don't line up at 12 correctly either so it's important to see before you buy. I passed on one oris because of that but the one I bought is spot on.

There's nothing entry level about them except for the price. The build quality is really first rate and I personally love the titanium bracelet. Put the Oris Meistertaucher next to a Panerai and ask a non-wis whic one is the more expensive watch and you'd be surprised at which one comes out best....

I would buy another in an instant.
