Deep Sea, Why so many for sale.?

Seems alot of these are for sale. Are people finding them to big or just growing tired of them. I think they are great but... seems people are for what ever reason dumping them

I have noticed that too--at good prices too--and from reputable sellers--6700 range--not bad!

Well....Since I am one of the guys "dumping' mine

I love the watch but my complaint is that I have to dress around it because of the height of the case. My shirt cuffs bunch up behind it and I feel there is a better option for me.

I think the DJ II and GMT Ceramic will be more appropriate for everyday wear so I can tailor my watches to my clothes and not the other way around.

Nothing wrong with the watch...I think if I lived in a warmer climate where short sleeves is an everyday option it would be great!!

IMO it has to do with the size. That's why I prefer the SD 4000 instead.

Because it's a brick on a bracelet. I have been wearing my SD 4000 for a few weeks now and I am ready to switch to the GMT-II or Ex II for a little while to get a slimmer design on my wrist.

I did not buy the DSSD because it was just too big. I may someday, but not for a while.

Its the height not the diameter that makes a watch harder to wear. I suspect this is why so many cant live well with the DSSD.

I suspect people get caught up in the hype surrounding the watch and buy one without trying it on first. Personally, I have yet to have difficulty getting my DSSD to fit under my cuffs and actually find it quite easy to wear on a daily basis. But I did try it on before buying it just to make sure it would qualify as my daily wearer.

Size does matter, I like my Sea Dweller, that is about as big as I want. Just my taste in watches. the biggest watch I have is a Speedmaster Pro.

Other watches can be like or dislike, you can compromise with them ...but this dssd can be downright uncomfortable if on the wrong wirst due to its size .....this is a live example of supply and demand in action!! Lets see how low the prices get!!!

I'm with Greg. It's comfortable and works well for me. Don't have any intention of getting rid of this one.

My reason, and a slight regret

I sold mine because I was very disappointed with the fact that Rolex made the watch larger -- which I liked-- but failed to make the dial any larger.

By doing a larger watch, putting a rehaut dial in with writing on it that I didn't like (although in real life it is less noticeable than in photos), and keeping the dial as small as the GMT Master II C, I felt that they really hadn't made the watch functionally larger on the most important part, the real estate where you actually read the time.

On the other hand, of the Rolex's I've owned, the blue lume was the longest lasting. Not up to Seiko Marine Master standards, or Seahawk II Pro, but much better than Rolex of the past.

For that reason, and the fact that it is a Rolex, I probably should have kept mine. But I prefer the larger dial.

While the watch is big, it does NOT wear like a brick.

I noticed the DSSD is an acquired taste. Not to everyone's liking, but the ones who love them swear by them as this thread shows.

Maybe some of the dumpers felt it just wasn't for them.

My DSSD is the watch for me, strong presence but not too big, nice weight and ultra comfy, Sporty yet classy and elegant.

Definitely not considering selling it. It's a keeper.

I kind of understand where you're coming from...except for one question. Did you ever really have trouble telling time with the dial? With the Maxi-Dial and largest hands ever offered on a Rolex, there's absolutely no problem reading the time w/ a quick glance IMO.

Personally, I've got nothing wrong w/ seeing less of them around...hope they continue to dwindle in numbers as I know it's the only watch for me these days and hate seeing my watch on every other persons wrist.

I would go along with as other members have already stated that some folks found it hard to pull off for every day wear due to the thickness and once the novelty of owning the latest and greatest wore off decieded to get rid of it perhaps.

It seems though that most of the DSSD owners on here are more than happy with it and have no probs with the above, so who knows.

Is the DSSD thicker or more cumbersome that your Panerai? I would have thought they were similar size and would have the same shirt cuff issue.
