Is Sub LV going to be collectable later?

Rumor is they are not going to make it anymore.

I think what you're asking is how desirable the LV will be in the future (Assuming it will discontinued someday).

Depending on the collector and the focus of the collection, the LV will always find favor with those that fancy the divers in a collection.

Collectability and desirability are however; not always the same. The future will dicate the history of the LV and it's place among the divers carrying the Rolex name.

I think it's a reference that will certainly hold it's value. Witness the 5513. To approach the great references such as the 1680 RED, 1665, and even the 5512 might be a stretch, but again the future can do funny things.

As a daily wear diver in the modern vein it's the pick of the litter for me.

Like already stated, 50 years down the road your grand kids will be able to sell it for what you paid for it for sure, but I would never look at ANY modern day Rolex as a investment.

As far as what they are selling for, just search sales corners on all the different watch forums, you will get a good idea of the going price. I personally sold my M serial LV that was in perfect, new condition for $4300.

If the LV follows the typical avenue after it is discontinued, there will be a spike in it's market value..

Many who will speculate that it has become "valuable" will scramble to have one... But, that will be short lived and the prices will shortly drop down to normal..


As to future collectibility............ it won't be any more 'collectible' than any other 16610 for quite a while..
