Hello all,

I am attempting to sell a ladies model 6917 date for a friend who's wife has passed away. He says the watch has no sentimental meaning and he just wants to sell it. Before doing so I thought I would run a couple of photos by the experts to make sure this watch is a genuine Rolex. And if so, what ballpark the price range should be. It has no box or paperwork and watch appears to be in about the 85% good to very good neighborhood. Serial number starts with 744. I appreciate any thoughts or guidance.

Judging by the photos I would challenge the 85% good to very good condition. It has some serious visible dings on the lugs that could probably be lessened with a good polishing but not removed completely and the band has some serious stretch, the bezel seems a bit worn too. Depending on if it has been serviced recently (doesn’t appear so) your friend may get anywhere between $1,500 to $2,100 …I’m guessing, and that's being optomistic. Let’s see what others say.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I was being a little overly optimistic with the grading. I feel it is probably in the $1000. range also.

Looks to be in about the same shape as my old 77 that i just sold for $900.00

My wife has a couple of Swiss Army beaters she wears everyday, and they both look like that on the underneath. She wears a 2.05ct diamond on that hand too, and it drags and bangs against the caseback when she takes her watch on & off. And over the years, those watches plus normal wear & tear wore the prongs down on the ring, and we had to have a new head put on it last year.

A RSC service and a new (white,pink or salmon) dial and it will fetch much more.

More than the $1000 and the cost of both.
