Rolex and Guitars

I have a hunch a lot of TRF members are also guitar players/collectors. Which of your Rolexes reminds you of your favorite guitar ? My GMT 1675 reminds me of my Historic R0 Les Paul because it has that vintage vibe , made its name in the 60s, and looks great on the wrist like the LP does on a strap! How about yours?

Fender Stratocaster. Like how Eric does it. Cheers

(p.s. I own a Fender Stratocaster '68 Reverse in black. I say own, as I definately can't play it to justify it )

My SD reminds me of my late Ebony LP Standard! I miss her dearly!

My Deepsea with active EMGs is like the Zakk Wylde Bullseye LP Custom in my avatar - modern, big, loud and in-your-face!!

I hadn't thought about it before, but my new Milgauss is a perfect foil for my current main guitar. Like the Paul Reed Smith CE-22 that I own and play, the Milgauss is a great example of the best of both worlds - modern technology and the clean, classic look of traditional styling. Both use top-quality products and their attention to detail is par excellence. And, like my Milgauss, when I first got my PRS, I would constantly study it under harsh lighting to detect any slight scratch or imperfection. Until you realize that, to treasure something, you must make it your own and ordinary wear-and-tear is part of that.

My old 1985 Air-King. Hmmmm. A workhorse. Nothing fancy, just did what it was supposed to do and accompanied me throughout life's journeys. I guess that's like my college guitar - don't laugh - a Kramer Focus. It, too, was of mid-1980s vintage. Yes, it was EVH-inspired and a bit of a "metal brand," but it perforrmed well and was a solid piece of wood that was with me through a number of fun and not-so-fun situations.

My first guitar was an early 80s Hondo Les Paul knockoff. It sounded and played great. Performed far better, I daresay, than many Rolex knockoffs out there.

Cheers to all -

Should've had a 1016 to match my 70's Takamine 12-string...

Just sold my Les Paul Historic R8, and have another LP on eBay. I'm raising funds for 116710 and a midsize for the wifey. Still have a Martin and a Strat, though.

Just got rid of this baby which is a 1988 first edition Clapton signature - to be replaced by a Daphne blue limited edition custom shop dlapton signature strat - both play like a dream!! The candy grenn one was immaculate and I was the first person to peel the pickguard cover off in 2009!!! I sold this example for nearly £1500 GBP!!
