It happened here in San Diego and I know the seller... I offered to buy his watch about 90 days ago and I've sold him a watch in the past...

So he was going to buy your watch and wanted to meet at a bank and when he was looking at it he switched watches with a fake then declined the sale. It must have been a very good fake for you not to be able to tell. I assume no tags or protective wrapping on your watch.

Time to get those one way plastic locks and tag your watches.

No, I have nothing to do with it... I know the guy that was scammed...I have sold him a watch about 3 years ago and he called me to sell me his daytona but my offer was little low for him so he wanted to sell it himself...
He is a Nice older man...i feel bad for him

OIC, I was wondering what kind of fake could fool one that knows watches; I got the pronouns mixed up. Usually it is an attractive women that pulls this type of switch as they have the power to cloud men's minds.

This doesn't surprise me at all , I know of a AD in Antwerp , Belgium that had this done to them . A couple if years ago , van Cleef & Arpels in Paris was taken by the "switch" with a 8 ct diamond ring. That was a very well prepared operation , but anyway.
