Rolex and Jared's
I heard today that Jared's had let all of their in-house watchmakers go. Rolex threatened to terminate their AD relationship if they were not re-hired.
Has anyone heard this? Fr. John† |

I have not, Father; however, is Jared's the one that has the annoying ads of "He went to Jared!" and then the two girls leap up and down while holding hands?

Certainly seems plausible. In Jared's Goodlettsville (north of Nashville) store, they are no longer selling the Rolex line effective 5/11/2010 (or something like that). When I inquired as to why, the rep stated she didn't know.

I am surprised Jared's even carried Rolex in the first place. That store seems like a lower end jewelry store. And yes their commercials are so annoying.

I have purchased several from that store in Rivergate. Did not know they lost the Rolex line. The watch manager would give me a nice discount belive it or not.

Haven't heard that, but if true it's good news. Bought my GMT-ll at one and the sales person was going to size it for me until I questioned her about their watch maker. She said he'd been let go, so I said "let go... of my watch" and sized myself at home. I'm a lot more careful then they are.

From the discussions above, it seems they were not very worthy to carry the brand anyway... And i definatley agree they have the most annoying commercials.

Too bad.....I was hoping they'd make the equivalent ad for Rolex, with two dudes jumping up and down, holding hands, screaming "She went to Jared's!!!" after finding out one of the guys' girls got one of them a Rolex. |

Hmm, very interesting. I would not be surprised if this is true. Rolex tends to call all of the shots.

Have not heard that but may be able to find out this afternoon. Rolex wants to remove the parts accts of many independent watch makers so that watches will need to go back to Rolex for repair.

I could not buy from them after being bombarded with their annoying commercials where the women call each other after one of them gets jewelry. Nauseating.
