Help 18ct Daytona Dilema
I have 7 watches in my collection but want to get an 18ct Daytona, the idea has been growing on me for some time now and as I dont want to go to 8 watches, one of my existing ones has to go in the deal. The thing is I cant decide whether to go for white or yellow gold. I feel the YG black dial with yellow sub dials is my favoured choice swapping my ceramic tt sub in the process.... Or should I trade the steel daytona for the WG verdionbwith black dial and red hands. Just cant make my mind up? I love the daytona as it has the daytona clasp only fitted to that watch, then again the ceramic sub has not settled into my collection as I expected. what woud you do?

Seeing as you already have a SS-Daytona I would get a YG Daytona over the WG one.

YG sounds good, however its your choice. I can see why you might want to trade the SS Daytona to retain a variety of models. However I would have a tough time personally trading a SS Daytona.

A yellowgold daytona with black dial and gold subdials? Unbeatable.
Here's mine. :D

Thanks Dan! I'm actually waiting for a custom black gator strap with gold stitching... I wonder how that would fit the picture, but I'm loving the idea! :D

I like the WG Panda look myself or the Everose with black dial.

Ken, the WG Panda looks awesome to! Though I'm not so much fan of the everose dial... I hope they bring out more everose daytona dial options, and a strap version of it! ARGH!

Nothing wrong with having a large collection though some people have been scaling their collections to a few "higher end" pieces.

I just bought a ss daytona - thought I would like a WG daytona so I bought one and now I think I like the SS better - it sure is more resistant to scratches compared to the WG. I liked the weight of the WG but I can see I will go back to SS or maybe a WG on a strap....

Thanks guys! Yes I have tried it on brown gator and looks treatm but since I have one too many watches with brown straps, I like it better on black. Will switch to brown for you later..

I vote for the white gold. black face with red hands. This is the one Rolex often shows in their recent advertising and brochures (model 116509) as the "Driver's Watch". I think it's a pretty sharp combination. Good Luck in your choice!

And to the OP.....seems like you prefer YG? If that's the case then the answer is clear.

Thanks for all your replies...... Does anyone have any pictures of the YG Paul Newman dial on the wrist? I have asked my AD to get this one in and it seems that the TT Sub C days are numbered..... I think I will get a steel ceramic sub to replace it and go for the black bezel as I have the original LV already.

The YG option you described is so beautiful, and since you already have the SS one (which I assume you're hanging onto), get the YG one. Plus that one speaks to you, it seems, and certainly does many many other people :)
The WG one is pretty nifty as well, but as others have said, you already have the SS so why not spice it up some more?

Best advice is to try them on, while some like YG, others will say that WG is the way to go; in the end it is what YOU like best. Me? I love my YG on strap.
