Servus from post Oktoberfest Bavaria

Hello everyone,

it's nice to be part of such a great community! I was studying and visiting the forums for a couple of weeks and I decided that joining is a must for any reasonable lover of the crowned watch-house.

I first fell in love with wristwatches as a 5-6 year old kid. Among the first 3 objects I ever started to save money on, when I was 12 or 13, 2 were watches (the third being a bike...).

Although my interest in time-pieces never ceased to exist, the real urge to own and cherish a mechanical instrument has only resurfaced after accidentally stumbling upon images of the Tudor Glamour Double Date (bimetal, black dial, no diamonds) from Baselworld 2010.

Eversince, I am quite psyched to start a serious collection and have been dedicating quite a lot of my free time to reading fora and other internet resources, as well as keeping an eye open for quality books on wristwatches, watchmaking, mechanical movements and their fascinating history.

Since I am a man of quite swift decisions, I quickly came to the conclusion that I do not need years to really know what I like and what I am after. Consequently I am hereby giving my oath of allegiance to the Crown.

Since my budget is not that of a millionaire, my wife also not being exactly charmed by my newly rediscovered passion and I keeping in mind that I have to start somewhere, I found, bargained and ultimately bought a vintage ss Tudor Prince Oyster Date with black dial. Pictures will follow as it arrives from its seller overseas.

Now the question: does anybody know a trustworthy watchmaker in the greater Munich area, who would also be patient with a newbie and of course, not ask the world for taking a look at my new baby?

Thanking you all in advance,

SimplyTudor

Welcome.
It sounds like you have found your watch, but seeing all the great watch photos here, it is easy to want more than one model.
I hope someone can help you out on a Munich watchmaker.

Wow! I am honored and impressed by you showing up in numbers at my "new house party". Thank you for your words and let's hope in a fruitful time together.

Still hoping that someone here knows their ways around Munich, as far as fine time pieces and their aspiring collectors are concerned.

Watchmaker, ideally Rolex afficionado in the greatear Munich area, anyone?

Regards,

SimplyTudor
