TRF official mountainbike/roadbike thread
Show your love for the pedals !!
I'm a mountainbike chap that will soon add a road beast to his stable. In the meantime here are my precious toys. Best money I've ever spent !! Ehm.....they are both French,sorry... First one is the Lapierre X control 910,super fast all carbon XC/ Marathon bike, the second one is the Lapierre Zesty 714,all carbon all mountain super plush bike. They're both from 2010... I find myself using the X control way more often as I love to pedal and I love speed. The Zesty is a quite fun bike to use but it really suffers a lot on road transfer, she really likes to be trashed on steep and rocky grounds. Cmon guys, show me yours. |

Nice Rides, Andy!
Here's my carbon fiber/ Ti LeMond. It's my main ride. I also have a Specialized A1 Pro mountain bike I ride during the winter. The second pic in the "steel is real" LeMond I just gave my son. In fact, heading out for a lunchtime 25 miler while it's still 70 degrees. dP

Cool !!
You said at your age you're still pretty fit,did the cycling passion played a role in that ?? After 4 years of running I've turned last year to biking and I've got into the best shape of my life. I've managed to retain my muscular mass and lose evern more fat, while running was just losing fat but a lot of muscles too, and a lot easier to gain that extra bit of unwanted fat during break periods !! |

I have two Eddy Merckx road bikes. I have one old school steel frame I bought ages ago but I still love to ride this bike. I also have an Eddy Merckx AMX 5 carbon frame which is the bomb!

Hi Everyone,
Just noticed this thread. A photo of our tandem and trailer all loaded up for a camping trip in Scotland. It was hard work off road with that lot, I can tell you! Till next time... The Laird

Hi Everyone,
Just found a few more photos which I thought I would post. The inflatable boat is the boat I use for rowing along the river. I find this to be a good alternative exercise to cycling and I enjoy it. Till next time... The Laird

Here are my main addictions:
Road - 2009 Specialized Tarmac Pro SL built with SRAM Force Mountain - 2010 Niner RIP 9 built with SRAM XO. There's a damn fine watch invested in each of these so I should be riding them much more than I am.

very nice rides guys, nothing too lush here as the locals steal far too many should you turn your back for a minute or so but, when the mood takes me this is my steed - Marin Bobcat Trail

Our bikes are not so clean as the rest posted here. We just got back from a trip to Mammoth for some riding. I have a Giant AC1 and my son has a Santa Cruz downhill bike.

One of mine...
Have not raced for a couple of years, this one has never been used in anger but I have really enjoyed "getting the miles in" on it

Pretty hardcore bikes here, indeed. I'm brand new to riding and bought a Specialized Crosstrail two weeks ago. I really love it. Now I'm worried that a year from now when I'm more experienced, I'm going to start eyeing all those expensive carbon bikes. I think this is going to end up being and expensive hobby.

Here's my BMC SL01 I got earlier this year. Pic was taken near the little red light house under the GWB.
Planning on getting a Cervelo P2 or Felt B14 early next year for my tris.
