Datejust bracelet help needed.

Hello. First off, I want to thank the forum members for providing a lot of information to a new guy, such as myself. Unfortunately, I found this place after I won an online auction for a stainless datejust with a black dial. The watch is due to arrive Monday morning and I think I have a case of buyer's remorse already. My thoughts after winning the auction are I should have spent more money on a higher conditioned example to prevent me from spending alot of money after the initial purchase. The seller was upfront about the watch being fitted with an aftermarket jubilee bracelet. I didn't think that it was a big deal until I started doing a lot more research after the fact. I was trying to source an original for an replacement and found that there are at least two different ends. The two I heard mentioned were 555 and 555B. The watch's serial # is 5.25 million and the reference # I believe is 1603. If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, this watch checks out ok and it doesn't turn into the money pit I'm afraid it could be.
Thanks in advance,
Chris D.

My '68 has 555 endlinks.

The number on the endlinks and the number on the clasp are different.

Drop Stevemulholland3 a Private Message. He'd have a good idea of what you need and may have something in stock.

Just search the forum for his user name.

The only difference in the two numbers is whether or not the DJ has lug holes. The 555 is used on cases with lug holes, the 555B is used on cases without, and has notches cut into the bottom of it so that you can get a spring bar tool in to remove the bracelet. You may very well be able to source the endlinks and a service bracelet (if needed) from an AD.

Either the 555 or 555B will work. The 555b have little slots on the back side to access the spring bars on the newer watches that do not have external lug holes.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the quick replies. My case has the exposed holes, so I guess the 555 is the one I need.
Pz, thanks for the heads up. I will PM him and see if he can help me out.
Regards,
Chris

Being a 5 million serial is definitely a lug hole case.

Yep, I didn't phrase it well, but I was trying to point out the differences between the two numbers and tell him that either one would work with his case style. My bad.

My first nice watch was not my dream watch. I settled on something and ende up selling.

Luckily by the time I got my first Rolex, I knew what not to compromise on.

I think this watch will eventually be fine...stick around and your next purchase will be close to perfect!
