Help: winding on Explorer feels more resistant than usual.
When I wind my Sub C it is very smooth. When I was winding the Explorer tonight I felt much more resistance... a metal on metal feel. The watch gains 1 second a day. Also, the crown is difficult to pull out to the time changing position. Help, is there something wrong with this?

A metal to metal feel is never a good feeling, I'd have it checked right away.

Every watch has it's own feel to it...... Unless you have reason to believe that your Explorer has an issue; old age, beat-up, dirty, then it might not be anything to be overly alarmed about.

My Explorer has slightly more resistance when it is fully wound and I can feel the over wind clutch slipping. I can also feel this in my DJ and it is a lot more prominent. The new Daytona I have has no resistance at all when winding. It actually feels like there is nothing happening (it ddoes wind though).
My advice, let it run all the way down and try again to feel if it is perhaps just the clutch slipping. |
