Sports Illustrated - Rolex product placement?

I'm noticing several Rolex watches in the new Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition - product placement?

I noticed Leryn Franco is wearing a Deepsea and Bruna Schmitz is wearing a Datejust.

Yes it may not be a good sign that I notice watches in this context . . .

Here are links to a couple of photos with Rolex:

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't realize they both are ambassadors. They are both high level athletes so that makes sense.

If forum members are noticing the watches in a si swimsuit edition, it's only a matter of time until the world as we know it comes to an end.

I agree the looseness of that DSSD is crazy, it has to be a product placement as it just looks way too loose.

But I love those photos!!!! very schekshual

That has to be product placement. The Bruna Schmitz character is holding her left arm in an unnatural way, seemingly to place the watch front-and-center in the picture.

And I'll add that it's not surprising--SI has to be hurting financially, just like every other form of print media.

The DSSD is an interesting choice to put in the photos as it's not a watch commonly worn by women (though I did see a picture of Charlize Theron wearing one at a Lakers game).

However the target audience for the photos is obviously men so it makes some sense to include watches typically purchased by men.

Looks like I will have to pick up a copy of that magazine so I can get a better look at those Rolex watches!

I keep looking and looking and looking at Brooklyn Decker's photos on the SI website to see if she is wearing a Rolex but I think I am missing it. Maybe if I look a little more

Yeah? You tell her that. To me, she wouldn't look 'ridiculous' no matter what she was, or was not, wearing.
