Finding a Fellow WIS: A Play in Two Acts with Promised Awesome Rolex Content
True account of WIS encounter last night with content not available on WUS!
Act 1 Scene: Our new friends' driveway. My wife and I are there to watch their three kids while they go out for their anniversary. Our hero, Caraptor, notices an interesting watch on the wrist of his friend. Characters: Caraptor, Caraptor's Wife, Friend, Friend's Wife. Caraptor: (interior monologue). Hmm, I wonder what kind of watch that is? He was wearing a different watch the other day. This guy might be into watches. Oh, please don't be an Invicta. I've got to get a closer look. Ah ha! A Seiko White Knight! This guy has to be a WIS! I'll take a chance and see. Caraptor: (to Friend) Nice White Knight! Friend: Look at you knowing your way around watches! I have a Black Night, too. Caraptor: I knew you were a watch guy! Me, too. Friend: (to wife) Honey, he knows about my White Knight! Friend's Wife: What? Caraptor's Wife: (to Friend's Wife) Thank you. Friend: He knows my watch is a White Knight! Friend's Wife: Oh... okay. End of Act 1 Act II Scene: Friend's kitchen later that night. Characters: Caraptor, Caraptor's Wife, Friend, Friend's Wife Caraptor and Friend begin speaking in WIS while wives look on, confused. Caraptor: That's so cool you're watch guy. Friend: Yeah. I used to have some nicer watches, but I sold them when the economy tanked. Caraptor: Like what? Friend: Couple of Rolex's. A Sub... Caraptor: Sub is my grail. Date or No Date? Friend: No date. Caraptor: COSC or non COSC? Friend: Non COSC Caraptor: Cool. Friend: A GMT Master... Caraptor: Black, Coke, or Pepsi? Friend: Coke. Caraptor: Cool. Friend: And an Omega. Caraptor: What model? Friend: Seamaster. Caraptor: Bond? Friend: Yes, without the 007 seconds hand. Caraptor: Can we be best friends? Friend: I like the platinum Yacht Master Caraptor: Never been a fan of that one. I like the Sub best followed by the Explorer II Friend: White dial? Caraptor: Yep. Friend: Nice. Friend: (To Friend's Wife) Honey, what's the best watch you've ever had? Friend's Wife: Oh, the Rolex you bought me. I've worn that for everything. Digging in the dirt, feeding the donkey we used to own (Writer's note: say what?) Everything. I highly recommend buying a quality timepiece. Caraptor's Wife: Oh, crap, don't tell my husband that. Caraptor: Ha ha! Allies! Friend: Shoot, I thought I was over watches for a while. Now I want another one! Caraptor: Happy to enable. End of Act 2 End of Play |
