Windex for my Rolex?

Hi guys...

With that lovely black dial I have on my 14060m I notice water residue/streaks on the crystal a lot more than when I wear my silver dialed TAG. Not the end of the world, but it can bug me a bit.

Anyone who has read a few of my posts will know I'm not in the least scared to use and, in the eyes of some, even abuse my Rolex so plese don't think me lame for asking...

Do you think Windex or a similar anti streak glass coating could have any adverse reaction with the black aluminium of my bezel insert?

Windex is fine..................remember the film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"......the Greek dad used Windex on everything, groom used it on a pimple!

It puts a nice coating that repels water well - because we all know we shouldn't get our Rolexes wet

That's still my go-to method when I'm on the go..................
a quick lick of the the crystal, wipe w/ Banana Republic 100% pima cotton
T-shirt......still works for me.
But....when I am @ home.....soap & water & "Brasso" to polish SS......gold polish for my gold DJ.
Remember boys & girls......a clean & shiny watch is a happy watch

I use eyeglass cleaner. It's a lot more gentle and I get a free bottle every time I buy new glasses!

I bet Hans Wilsdorf is turning in his grave to think that he made one of the toughest sports watches on this planet. And today they get so much pampering they might as well be made from glass.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I have a related comment. Windex makes a lot of types of cleaner. I wouldn't use one with ammonia, because ammonia tends to leave a slight film on the surface.

I'm not taking about pampering, I'm talking about making a tool more easily legible without causing unnessisary discolouration...

I wash everything I own at some point, especially if it comes in regular contact with my body. Why would I not wash my watch?
