Welcome to TRF.
The Ceramic Bezel which exists on the new. The color and the way the Bezel looks is a bit different. The blue version looks better on the older version if you ask me. The clasp on the new one is quite a bit different. I would recomend you should at least go to an AD and have a look at the newer version first, they should be able to show you some example of what the older version looks like as well. If not the exact watch some examples of what the clasp looked like anyway. Always better to be completely informed prior to making a decision old vs new.

The new upgrades are worth it, but big price difference.

One single question: do you like the slightly bigger case on the new one (116613) VS slimmer old case (16613) ? (I would personally go towards the classical and imo more refined 16613)

If you like the new stainless steel ceramic sub then you will like the TT ceramic sub. I find the new one is worth its price in gold with all the upgrades rather than paying thousands and getting a watch with stamped metal clasp (exception being the YM as there is no alternative to it). IMO the new one has a more prominent presence.

nice
The new upgrades are nice, but "worth it" is another question. I like almost all of Rolex' improvements (during the last 60 years), but they're all incremental and not worth a huge investment, as individual upgrades. A 50 year old Rolex can still be all the watch you'll ever need. When you compare a 2006 Sub to the newest, if the ceramic bezel doesn't set your heart aflutter, save your money.
I've seen significant price differences out there for AD vs pre-owned. If you like the 2006 model, it was a great watch, and should do just fine. |

Get the new one. The old one is inferior in every facet. Solid band, better lume, bigger presence, and possibly better resale value down the road but I could be wrong. Rolex definately did not downgrade there latest watch. If you are not sure dont buy because its alot of cash spent to only have buyers remorse in the end.

thanks everyone alot of good comments. i have not yet decided what to do but leaning to new even with the big price difference. i was told be the local AD that i could get a 15% discount on the sub tt and no discount on the sub does this sound correct.

Re: your first question: For me, the functionality of the new clasp and the look of the ceramic bezel woud be enough for me to flip for the additonal cost to get a 116613 over a 16613. Re: your second question: Check the prices from the trusted sellers on this forum on the newer TT sub...factor in the sales tax (if any)...and decide on the price you want to pay.
PS: Is it the blue or the black that you are wanting?...Just curious!!

If you are thinking of the blue TT get the new one, as everything is better and if you are thinking of the black TT get the new one, as everything is better.
