Vintage 5513
Hello All,
I'm new to the forum and the vintage Rolex world, and am looking for more information on my 5513. I recieved the watch from the uncle a few years ago for Christmas, but he couldn't tell me much about it, other than it was either his or his fathers (my cousin and I both got one when he was thinning his collection). It appears to be a '68 model with a 24.5 mil serial number, domed crystal, folded bracelt, and meters first on the dial. From what I have been able to find, these things make the watch more valuable. I guess my question really is, what other sorts of things are valued by collectors and gain a premium in the marketplace with these Subs? What kind of markings should be on an original bracelet. What sort of price are vintage subs like this commanding? I do not plan on ever selling the watch because the sentimental value is more, but it's always nice to know what your piece is worth. I will try to post pictures when I find the cord to connect my camera. |

Welcome to TRF! It's a Rolex submariner meters first ref.5513, the serial must be 2.45, not 24.5. 1968 is correct for this watch, looks like it has a 9315 bracelet.

I was wearing it daily but after reading comments about owners being afraid of rain I may be a little more cautious in the future ie. not fishing or swimming with it on! Thanks for the info and compliments so far! |
