16610LV Question

as you may know from another thread, i am close to pulling the trigger on one.

one thing i noticed is the fatter minute hand. is it only the minute hand that is resized on this model? any ideas why not the other hands? are all of the sub-c hands this same width?

i didnt even notice it when i was looking at the watch earlier, but it was next to a sub-c so maybe that is why it didnt jump out at me.

thanks!

Hadn't really noticed it on mine, but maybe its because I am blind or I never bothered comparing it to other models.

May have something to do with the Maxi Dial. Bigger is better.

All the hands on both the sub c black and green watches are the same. The o my thing that is different between these two is the green bezel as opposed to the black, and the shimmering green dial as opposed to the gloss black.

The 16610LV doesn't have a green dial, but the 116610LV does.

It's also possible the 16610LV has bigger hands than the 16610, because the 16610LV has a Maxi Dial and the 16610 does not. I'm just not sure if this is the case or not.

Yes, same hands as the newer Subc!
Only the minute hand is larger and is part of the maxi dial package with the 16610LV.
The 16610LN has the standard dial and hands and was only recently up-sized with the introduction of the ceramic 116610LN. Both the LNc and LVc (+ the added green dial) now have the maxi dial and hand set!

Uncle

ok guys!!!

special thanks to Dan, Rob, and of course Mike (whose collection it seems knows no bounds - i thought you just specialized in 5513's!).

im calling the AD tomorrow morning and putting some money down on it until i can get back up there Friday to pick it up.

my first sub (first rolex, after an aborted SD several years ago....wish i NEVER let that one go) and its not even a 'normal' one!

i will still be bugging you guys eventually for the first no-date acquisition (14060M, 5513, 5512, older?) once i recover a bit from this one!

Did you pick up your new 16610LV yesterday or didn't it happen?

We like pictures if you were able to pick it up!

My 16610LV is my only rolex watch, you will love it. The minute hand is a bit larger for lisibility of diving time, as well as increasing the night luminosity. A collector !

i did - but i was gutted because i had to return it because of some crystal/dial issues (see my other thread from this morning)...

incredible how quickly i fell in love with the LV.

Now, i am going back to the drawing board trying to find 1 AD out of 100 that might still have a new one available!

thats one of the problems with the sub for me - it looks as good on a strap as it does on a bracelet!
