Anybody else hate their jobs???

Man ... I am a consultant (software development). Been at it for close to 20 years ... I am sick of taking constant beatings for developer issues, QA issues, client issues, scope issues, and any other issue you can think ... it pays the bills and few more things ... but seriously, I need to find something else to do. I know it is a tough economy and I should be grateful ... but dude ...

Sorry, need to vent.

Just keep chanting this mantra.........
Business is great, people are terrific, life is wonderful.

Take the money & run......have a good time outside work....at your deathbed you ain't gonna think about work.

Friends, loved ones, vacations, and hobbies. This is not the economy in which to experiment with parachuting out and about, unfortunately.

I see you man.

I guess have the best job in the entire world even if this year financially speaking has been a completely fiasco. I work in the tourism field and due to the bad economy very little tourists showed up on our island this summer. I'm getting ready for a "tightening the belt " winter, seriously.
Now I'm off until mid january, you can't beat that, but at the same time I'm sick of this up and down stuff, with very unpredictable summers even when the economy is (was) good.
I would love to move to a job more suited to my hobby (bicycles) but I really can't complain,my actual job pays the bills, gives me a cool lifestyle and a LOT of priceless free time.
Let's just hope better times will come for the global economy.

I was a product test engineer for a large Semi house, i hated it. Pressure from all sides and totally thankless.
It did enable me to retire at 48 though:-)

And i didn't even mention the constant turn around at the mid to lower end of the food chain ... and the massive quality and schedule troubles that it creates ... for which i receive beatings as well!

I guess this is at odds with this great post here, but I am just having one of those weeks...

No, don't hate my job at all. Been blessed with a great career especially considering the way I grew up. However, I have plotted my career meticulously to be where I am. When I was 18-21, my biggest fear was growing old working at something I absoluely hated and paid little. I got this fear from watching everyone in my family and the misearble lives they had. It was one of the biggest motivators ever in my life and greatly shaped my adult life.

It's not that I hate it really ... it is just that it is such a negative environment (I guess by definition ... when you have multiple parties, each one trying to cover their own a$$) that it gets a bit too much sometimes... It takes an effort not to bring that attitude home.

LOL Really?

Is this a joke?

10's of millions if not 100+ million people out of work and your complaining about how bad your job is?

1. Be thankful you have a job!
2. Be thankful you have a job!
3. Be thankful you have a job!

What are you doing about it to change the situation/people around you?

Instead of complaining about it get up and go do something about it!

my 2cents please don't get offended.

(its said I have to put that above sentence in)

Two weeks ago, I was laid off................Again. This was the fourth time I've had this happen and it certainly doesn't get any easier to bear. If I could find another job, even one that I hated, I would be over the moon! Anybody out there need a textile technician?

Why would I get offended? If I put up a comment / rant ... any opinion, as long as it is respectful, is fair game.

Like I said above, it's not hate ... it is just frustration that needs venting. I've been out of work in the past and know exactly how it feels. Anyway, don't take it so seriously.

Oh... and I have to cover for all the sales people when they tell them the 45 million dollar piece of communications equipment is going to make them coffee in the morning, their lunch in the afternoon, and... Satisfy them in the evening! My desk get's trouble calls and you commonly hear: "The Salesman told you it would do WHAT!?"

Question: How can you tell when a salesman is lieing?

Answer: His lips are moving

As a salesman I'm offended Paul. I can lie without moving my lips.
