Brandon,
As you may recall, I sold my Omega Great White and intended to get the white dial EXPII as a replacement. I ended up with the black dial sans Cyclops: The black dial without the "bubble" was stunning and more balanced. Although I loved my EXPII, I traded for the 16710 earlier this year: and find it to be more versatile. Plus, I have a black bezel insert so that I can change the look. Both are great watches - classics - and you won't go wrong with either. Fr. John† |

"Versatility" has to go to the Exp-II IMO. It's dual time-zone and every bit the tool that the GMT-II is. With the subtle brushed bezel and slightly slimmer profile, however, the Exp-II can easily go places where Pepsi and Coke are less comfortable: like under tight shirt cuffs and with conservative business attire.
For this reason, I think Exp-II is the best "if you're only going to buy one..." Rolex in the entire line. If you're going to buy two, however, I'd for certain get an Exp-II and either a GMT-II (16710, not that newfangled ceramic crap) or a 16610.
