As silly as this sounds, don't sweat it. Many more will certainly come. Just beat the hell out of it and replace the bezel at service. These bezels really finicky. I believe the bezels for the Explorer 16570 run a few hundred dollars from RSC. Perhaps the 216570 bezels a little more. It's not like the indices are filled with black gold. I can't see a part like this costing upwards of $1200.

Congratulations! You just became a warrior!

...Now hopefully this didn't happen to your Patek!

Take it as a sign to keep the watch, you will wear it with less concern now.

They're only new once
It really doesn't look that bad , if that's any consolation.

Errrrrrrrrrrr actually it did

I somehow caught the sapphire crystal on a pointed object which caused the sapphire to crack. I sent it back to Patek who repaired it very quickly and it was back on my wrist within the month
I just wish that I had taken some photos of it, but I must have been in shock

Thanks gents for some very positive, sound and humerous answers.

I didn't worry about it in the slightest and look at it as part of the history of the watch.

My watches are certainly not safe queens.

They were purchased to be worn, abused and past on to the next generation

Ouch! But posters are right; now it's yours--wear it in good health.

Is the bezel on the new Explorer ll SS, or aluminum?
