My first Rolex - 1987 Air King

Hello all,

(I was told to pose here as well, after I posted in the main forum, so here I am )

I am a proud new member of the Rolex community, and I have what I hope to be a lifetime Rolex as my first one! I purchased this from a fine forum member, although by way of a different website where I spotted the watch.

It is a perfect Rolex Air King, c. 1987. Fully serviced/documented, with all original things/both boxes, original warranty documents, (even the hang-tags). It was a safe queen for 20+ years and was recently fully serviced/polished/etc. I think it's fantastic. I have now worn it for 24 hours and I LOVE IT! I was afraid it would be too small, but I think it looks great on my 7.5" wrist. Very happy to own this watch and to be a part of this great community.

Very nice!!! I wear an Air-King 5500 myself from 1985. The AK wears well, I've never found any of my 34mm watches small.

Love yours!

J

My friend, I am delighted to see you so pleased with the watch. You were a wonderful trading partner, and I thank you again for placing your trust in me. It was a smooth, easy transaction.

Congratulations on that very handsome Air-King, and warmest regards!

Here's a pic of that watch on my wrist on a brisk Minnesota winter day, for old time's sake:

Cheers,

Dave

Is the jubilee original to the watch?

The GMT and the AirKing are birds of a feather so to speak. Both were born from aviation.
