1962 Rolex Submariner 5513 long term value...

I looked at what appears to be a very nice, original 1962 Rolex Submariner 5513 today.
It has the original rivet bracelet, and a very clean dial, no papers.

Does a 1962 Sub 5513 watch maintain a higher value than the later 5513's...?
The retail price is 9,500 dollars. I

No I didn't get a photo, as they didn't want the pictures taken at this store..

That's kind of weird that they didn't let you take pictures. My guess is that the earlier models are worth more. You also have to take in consideration if it has a "service dial."

After so many years that dial might not be the original one the watch came with, instead, when it was serviced Rolex might have replaced it.

From my limited knowledge of vintage market, that price seems on the low side. As I am sure you are aware, it all comes down to originality and condition.

Good luck.

Unless it has a gilt dial, I would say it's not worth $9.5k...

ROLEX case number 1600799. Is that a guilt dial...?

1,6m is 1967 and a meters first dial so legit. Value (in the US) about half of your quoted price without B&P.

it does not look like a gilt dial, gilted dial would be before 1.6 million s/n. it's more like a '67 200 meters first dial and not worth the 9500$

It doesn't look like a gilt dial to me.

This is not gilt but 67 meters first, if it is in very good condition and with original dial hands crown and bracelet worth about 5,5k €....

5500E is really challenging (ask me how I know) and the price in Europe is higher than in the US.

Definitely not a 62' model.
1.6mn would correspond to 66 or 67.
A bit expensive for what it is.
