14060 Z 4 liner as straight up trade for 14060 D 2 liner

Thinking about a trade on my Z 4 liner, complete set for a D series two liner. The D is missing papers but has paperwork from RSC in NYC done in July of 2010. The Z has not been services. I prefer the two liner over four but tend to flip. Is that a bad move?

Thanks

John

I sold my z serial 4 liner then waited for a good 2 liner to come up which it did a bnib z serial 2 liner. I think I got a better deal for the new 2 liner. I understand your personal preference however I think it comes down to condition. If condition is comparable I don't see one as more valuable than the other.

I guess the later Z-serial had the COSC writing.

The thing about this hobby/passion is thet there are no cut-and-dried answers..

If the earlier Sub dial is the one you want, and you're in it for the long haul, then it may be a very good trade for you.. At the moment, D and Z cover the same time span and are equal in value, depending on condition.

If we all knew what the future would bring, we would all do the exact same things........ I too prefer the earlier 2 line dials..

It's not the issue of certification but the appearance of the dial. some like the more classic, cleaner looking 2 liner and others like the 4 liner. that's it. same watch, same movement.

i've had both... i prefer the two liner. your sub has not been serviced, but his has? if his watch is in acceptable condition - a condition you can live with, i say go for it. that servicing is not too long ago.

I think the 4 liner has engraving on the rehaut aswell, not sure.

I had to wait a little bit but I got my choice, 14060M non COSC Z serial. Love the clean 2 lined dials.

I just bought a random serial 4-liner. At first, I couldn't make peace with the dial and was thinking about selling or trading it. But now, after several days, I love the watch and have decided to keep it.

I've actually never seen a 2-liner (14060 or 14060M) in person, and I'm wondering: Are there any other differences between the dials other than the COSC script? For example, are the lume plots slightly bigger on the COSC version? Is the rehaut deeper/shallower on either version?

Does anybody own, or has anybody owned, both and noticed other differences between the dials?

I like both looks, by the way.

But sorry for the digression. I'd go for the 2-liner if it's what you really want, especially since it's had a recent service.

2 liner keeps you closer to the roots of the 5513 (I am not a fan of the rehaut lettering on the 14060)

I own a two liner and love it, you will too, plus you avoid a service of your watch papers are meaningless at this point....

I will dissent from the majority view here... I say keep the 4-liner. It's a nod to the 5512. And if the Sub is finally upgraded as speculated, it will have had barely a 4 year production run. And yours will have the serial number engraved both between the lugs and the rehaut, which I think is nice.
