Color of new vs older TT Blue Sub Dials.

I was at my AD the other day and had on the my TT Blue Sub bought new about 6 months ago. My AD had a brand new TT Blue Sub in the display case.

Someone here before had mentioned a slight hue color difference in the blue on the dial on the most recent TT Blue Subs.

Nobody at the AD believed me until we compared them. It was an obvious difference. On the newer ones the blue shade is slightly lighter.

Anybody else seen this yet?

Definitely. We all were in agreement that the older hue is much more beautiful than the newer color.

Agreed, Tom.

My friend, Don (sub2004) was the first one to notice this when he went to Mansors to pick up his own TT Blue Sub a couple of weeks ago.

Fortunately, he had a choice and picked up the darker shade of blue. I noticed that the newer ones have a lighter shade now. Not bad, but I prefer mine.

Cheers - JJ

I've seen both the darker and lighter shades of blue. As always, it's a matter of personal taste. Personally, they both look great to me.

Agreed, I know some of the older blue sub dials faded to give a kinda indigo effect & these were semi sought after at one time, but I must admit I do love the blue of my 16613 & doubt if I'd ever want it to be any lighter.

I don't know what the new blue looks like, but IMO the original color was perfect. Does anyone know, then, if both colors may be comming out of Geneva simultaneously? Different dial machinery or different version?

My local AD says that his Rolex represenative told him today that there is supposed to be only one color dial for both the TT blue and the YG blue subs, but the color varies by manufacturing lot.
