DOUBLE Incoming (You're Gonna HATE This!!!)
Today is one of the better days I've had in a while. I got myself a couple birthday gifts, and they both arrived today. A BIG one (Meccaniche Veloci Quattro Valvole), and little guy (a 100 year-old Elgin "trench watch").
The Meccaniche Veloci Quattro Valvole Seems like it's been forever... the instant gratification of overnight shipping has spoiled me. Two short weeks, and I'm already foaming at the mouth in anticipation. Let me tell you... Ordinando un reloj de España no es fácil! I had to call my bank, the merchant's bank, and the merchant a total of 5 times to get the transaction sorted out, but the $700 savings was worth it. Being a watch that's not really available in the US, you really only have MSRP as an option (from Amazon). But at last, the wait is over! To answer your question, I LOVE this watch... it's a real monster of a machine... totally dominates my near-8" wrist. And if you are mesmerized by the ticking of a watch like I am, this timepiece will leave you spellbound... the harmony of 4 independent movements ticking away is incredible to listen to. The Elgin Trench Watch This thing's really cool. But it's amazing how small 31mm seems these days, especially when side-by-side with a 48mm BEAST! I ordered a cuff strap for this baby, and I'm gonna get that put together later this week. Will get some more shots of it then! Without further ado.... some photos! Sorry for the poor quality... I didn't wanna whip out the camera, so I iPhoned it. |

Well. The trench watch will surely be noticed even by a non-WIS unless he's brain dead.
The other one...I've never seen anything like it and didn't know it was possible to have 4 indy movements in 1 watch! |

BTW, the MVQV is really light for its size. It feels like it weighs about 100 grams. That's the all-titanium case at work! :)

Quite a big incoming Steve! The MVQV is a real chunk, it's really amazing!
As for your trench watch, I find it truly beautiful! I'm not an expert in those but you sure found a pretty treasure that you'll be able to give to your children! Congratulations on both of them and enjoy them, please keep us updated about the monster, I want to know how confusing it is to take a look at four different dials at once!

Thanks, guys! I should be getting my cuff strap for the Elgin tomorrow. Will get a bunch of nice photos once that's put together. :)

BTW, I want to put out a sincere thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback (especially to the no-replies from those who dislike it). I know this thing isn't for everyone, and I appreciate that no one is bashing it. Very classy. |

Nery nice and very unique pieces. Thanks for sharing.
Haven't seen the Quattro before, but you could cover all the timezones in the US right? PDT, MDT, CDT and EDT. Am I missing any? |

It would be kind of interesting to see what kind of strap combinations you would come up with for this one DanP.

However if anyone can figure out how to change up straps on a watch DanP can.
