All of these brands with supposed bad resale value.....
Well, where are these deals to be had exactly?
I'd like to buy a second hand JLC or IWC at a steep discount but there dont seem to be many that come up on the forum all that much....(see more IWC than JLC) Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

In all honesty I think IWC and JLC have a pretty good resale value, perhaps it isn't as good as Patek's or Rolex's but you can still get a pretty good deal if you try to sell one you bought at an AD (in my humble opinion).
Otherwise, I think you just have to look around and spot them when they come up for sale.

They don't sell in high volume but they do come up. I just picked up a JLC Navy Seals automatic and I saw another one for sale today on another forum. Plus a Navy Seals Chrono has been for sale a while.

Just like Rolex those brands have some models that hold value well and some that don't. Across the board Rolex will hold value better but on a model by model basis it could go the other way. I've been looking at IWC as a watch I'd like to have in the future. The 7 Day Portugese holds its value well if you get a discount to start (and you should). JLC and IWC can generally be had with decent discounts but from what I see hold used value well for the popular models.

Secret is to buy at a discount so you don't take the loss on resale. They do come up here but you could try looking on other boards that arnt so Rolex focused.

I've sold 2 JLCs and did pretty well on both of them. One of them I bought preowned, kept for 2 years, and got all my money back.

I believe I'm dead even on all my JLC and IWC purchases/sales to date. Discount or pre-owned is key when buying.
