I don't think I can let this one go...

Bought this with some very light scratches and needing a service, sent it off to my former RSC watchmaker intending to sell it but now that it's back I don't think I can. I think it literally looks as it did when it came from the factory and the edges are still sharp (the scratches were all light and none were on the edges), he told me he treated it just like they did when he worked for Rolex. I feel like I'm unlikely to find another two line 14060M complete set; thoughts?

She's a beauty, I love it when they come back from service because it's like getting a new watch all over again. You need to decide if the watch is "calling out to you", if so then keep it, if not then let it go. You can usually tell after a few nights sleep, especially if the watch shows up in your dreams!

Agree... Keep it for the time being and see what happens, if you need the $$$ for something different or another in the future you can always sell later

Do you guys prefer the two line or the four line? Are there any other differences between this (Y-Serial/2004) and the current version?

Now that I'm seriously thinking of committing I need to get to know her.

Nice watch but why the resting cloth, S.Steel is quite a tough material and far tougher than wood.

Only difference in any 14060M is just a few fonts on the dial to say the bare uncased movement has been tested at COSC which today is little more than pure marketing.

Given the choice, I would choose the two line. It's a cleaner look and more classic through my eyes.

It's not worth giving up IMO. It's a classic that will just get better with age.

a) it's not even got hairlines on it at this point so i'm still being extra careful with it (the GMTII-c got that treatment for about a week as well)
b) the cloth helps it stay in position for photos
