Icon14 Took my Tudors to RSC- really nice experience!

I recently bought 2 Tudors on eBay and I wanted to make sure that they were Authentic and more importantly not stolen (this is a risky proposition because if they are deemed stolen, RSC become what they call "Guardians of the watch" and they keep the watch). I was willing to take that chance for the peace of mind of knowing I am not wearing a stolen watch.

They would not give me a printout because the purchases were not from an AD. For that, they wanted $150 to get an estimate on service... understandable I guess.

They did however take the watches into the back, run the Serial #s and give me these awesome pouches and cleaning cloths. Everybody was very nice and very cordial. I don't own any Rolex, so I never dealt with that level of service before and was quite impressed!

I asked them about current Tudors and they said they will service any Tudor including the new ones-I remember hearing that they wouldn't.

The woman even said that she hopes they will bring Tudor back to the states and she thinks that they will in the near future. Just one employee in a huge company, but it was nice to hear anyway!

Nice Acquisitions...wear them well. I also just had a stellar experience with my Sub at the NYC RSC.

Not sure what you mean by this - they wanted to charge you $150 to give you a service estimate?

Thanks!

Yes that is correct. It would be applied to the service cost if I went ahead with the service.

Gorgeous watches ralpie. Would you mind sharing the details in term of what they are? Quite a newbie when it comes to Rolex and Tudor.

Thanks! I'll provide info and the pros can correct me if need be.

On the left is a Tudor 79160 which is also called a "Big Block" it is from 1993-4. The watch was offered in 3 bezel configurations. 79160 models have my bezel, 70 models have a turning 12 hour bezel and 80 models have a bezel like the Rolex daytona, as you can see from the photo of my other Tudor- the 79280. The 792*0 models were updated to include Sapphire crystal, and sightly slimmer Daytona style case.

For a few years the 792*0 models were branded with TIGER for the Tiger Woods sponsorship deal. I've never liked that it says that, but it is actually not obtrusive in person.

There are many many more details that I've left out as I am new to these forums and to Tudor in general.

Do a search for the model numbers and you'll find a TON of information.

I will likely be trading/selling one of these or some other watch to get a blue Tudor sub, a Tudor Black Bay or Pelagos in the future, I love all of those!

Thanks for the information ralpie, your Big Block is spectacular. Might have to add that one to my list. Do let me know if you intend to sell in the future :).

My pleasure, will do.

I actually saw one recently on eBay from a reputable seller. It is not in great condition, but for the price it looks good. May be worth making the seller an offer and replacing the crystal (find out what that would cost first). Of course, be careful who you buy from on eBay and ask as many questions as they'll answer! I also like to put eBay purchases on AMEX as I feel their protections are more user friendly than Paypal's. If the seller will take AMEX I strongly recommend that.

If you want a link just PM me.
