IWC Portuguese Yacht Club

IWC newbie here. I've recently been really liking the look of some of the IWC watches, this one in particular. MSRP seems to be in the 10k range, which is very more than I am looking to spend.

I haven't really seen any of these used for sale, possibly because they are so new? Should I expect to see lightly used ones for a more reasonable price within the next year or so?

Thanks in advance for the input!

I can't really comment on finding an IWC Yacht Club used or anything like that but I just wanted to comment that I think that is one of the nicest watches I have ever seen. I was actually going back and forth between the Yacht Club with the white dial of the IWC Portuguese Auto with the blue hands and blue strap. I ended up buying the Portuguese because I thought the 45mm Yacht Club was going to be too big for me to wear with my suits for work. Good luck!

Thanks for the response! I haven't seen one in person yet, so I'm not completely sold on it but from what I've seen online I really like the way it looks. It may be too big for my taste as well, I'll have to see how it looks on my wrist.

Congrats on the Portuguese Auto with blue hands, that is a gorgeous piece.

I was originally thinking about getting another Rolex, but I'm trying to really open my eyes to other "looks" and I do like the Portuguese and Pilot lines offered by IWC.

I didn't really think it was too big for my wrist and the rubber strap really conforms to the wrist really well. I nice alligator strap looks absolutely beautiful as well. I think if you shop around on the forum and some other top sites you should be able to find a good deal. In all honesty, I would really like to own one if a few yrs. It is such a classic look in person and a really clean looking dial. If you call some of the IWC boutiques they will actually be able to send you some wrist shots free of charge and it will give you a better idea of the looks of the watch. I found it to be very helpful. Good luck!

Look at the thread one above yours that looks at your favorite non-rolex watch and there is a nice pic of the IWC yacht club as well. He just posted it on the last page. It looks stunning.

I sold a Yacht Club 'Volvo Race Edition' (new one in titanium) about two weeks ago...it was painful. It's a stunning watch. The all brushed titanium and carbon fiber dial is amazing on the wrist. The one I had sold to AU within 12 hours of listing it...if only I had more money!

The previous models were not very good sellers and lots of AD's have been sitting on them for a while now *cough*easytonegotiate*cough*. I came across one of the previous models about 5 months ago that I sourced for a client well within your price range. The deals are out there, so keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks for the info! Really nice looking watch there, it's a shame you had to sell it. I assume when you refer to the "previous" models you are referring to the regular Portuguese Yacht Club (non Volvo edition)?

If you don't mind me asking, you mention in my price range, are you talking brand new or pre-loved? And in the 4-6k range?

Thanks again!
