interesting... shouldn't matter as it's a personal item that just happens to be worn, like a pair of undies

What if you bring in 3 or 4 watches with the intension of wearing them and taking them back with you as a non US resident?

If its one watch, you can wear it and no issue but if you bring them in a travel case do you still have to declare them?

If in doubt, always declare. You won't have to pay any duties if you're only traveling and will be taking the watches with you when you leave the country again.

import-usa-england

Hi,
I am aware of people who have worn a "watch" as a personal item and have removed it from the wrist along with other items at security and then held it in a bunch of stuff, belts, bracelets etc and had no problem coming into the uk.
I have also heard that the box is best to be shipped by usps as they seem to be less intrusive.
Re PAPERS the most important bit!as these cannot be relaced, these are to be put in with your wallet or travel docs and so they appear as normal documentation and hence should not give the customs people a clue to look further.
Please do not say it is a fake if you are asked.
The UK HMRC customs duties website will give you the legal aspects.

I moved to the US from England and brought in approx $30K in watches as a non-US citizen no duty. Now I live here I do pay duty. It depends on risk vs cost, an import of $3500 value cost me $93 in customs fees.
