Icon4 Bob Ridely reviews/price

A while back I made a thread talking about the lume on my TT gmt ii's hands. To make a long story short the lume is gone on the hour hand and is nearing its end on the rest of the hands. I do not like the look of the lume "junking" up. I also wanted to replace my black bezel with a root beer one.

Just got quoted for $350 dollars to remove lume, and was told they could exchange my black bezel as well. I'm pretty much ready to send it off, but I was wondering what people think of this. Is $350 a fair price to clean the hands? Or would it be cheaper in the long run just to replace the hands by sending it in to Rolex whenever I feel like I should service it.

ps: I'm not sure if the price included getting the bezel insert exchanged, but it probably did not.

Bob Ridley is not inexpensive. However, you get what you pay for. Hard to believe your watch would be in better hands (pun intended). Is your quote worth it? Only you can decide.

Main point I was trying to ask was if replacing the hands would be cheaper in the long run. (no clue how much that would cost)

I think a new set of hands for my GMT 2 16710 was around $300, though not sure if root beer would be the same. If you have a tritium dial and get the hands replaced by RSC they will be superluminova.

It would be best to have it serviced and get it all done - hands, dial and bezel. I don't know they will just swap the insert for one that wasn't shipped with your dial.

The Root Beer insert came with the brown/bronze dial combination.
